Hot Pink Smoothies

We love our green smoothies.  We play with lots of vegetable and fruit combinations, but they still taste fairly similar day to day.

It was time to shake things up a bit.

Introducing… the Hot Pink Smoothie.


This is a super-well-known smoothie (if you are into this kind of thing) made famous by Robyn of Green Smoothie Girl.  I have tweaked to our liking and after a few days of trials have come upon my family’s version of the classic.  At first it was a bit beet-y for me, but my tastebuds adjusted quickly and now I really enjoy this smoothie’s taste and texture.  It is filling, super sweet and (most importantly, right?) really pretty.

Hot Pink Smoothie

  • 2 Large Carrots, raw and peeled
  • 1/4-1/2 Medium Beet, raw and peeled
  • 1/4 C Chopped Dates
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 12 Frozen Strawberries (big ones!)
  • 1-2 T Flax Oil
  • 2-3 T Plain Kefir
  • 2 C Coconut Water (or liquid)

(omitting 1/4 C cashews for now, for Violet’s sake.  But hoping to add them soon!)
