It rains so infrequently here that we are rarely prepared for it. And by “rarely prepared” I mean that we leave things outside that should not get wet.
An unfortunate victim of a recent rainstorm was Daniel’s field journal, given to him by Fernando. The cover was drawn for him on the flight back from our Portland trip, and since being given the journal, Daniel has been filling the pages with his observations and inventions about the world around him. It was just a fascinating little peek into that amazing brain of his. I loved leafing through it and finding little insights to his world.
We were sad to see it go, but truly it was beyond saving. So we did the next best thing: Snapped a few photos of the pages that were still recognizable! Here’s to many more field journals to come!
